'Franklin Island' This painting is of Franklin Island from Harbor Island. Harbor Island is just North of Franklin Island in Muscongus Bay, Maine. This is the second painting of Franklin Island that Mark has done. In the very background is Monhegan Island. Muscongus Bay has many small islands; many of the islands off the coast of Maine are privately owned. Several are owned by the Maine Island Trail Association. Monhegan Island is an established town and has around 75 year round citizens. These islands provide an endless supply of subject matter for this Maine artist. |
