'Monhegan 2006' SOLD Anyone visiting Midcoast Maine has heard of Monhegan Island. Monhegan Island is 12 miles outside of Muscongus Bay and about a 45 minute ferry ride from New Harbor. It is a very popular island and during the summer months thousands visit to get a glimpse and feel of island life. Monhegan Island is very quaint and about 75 people live there year round. Many artists have flocked to Monhegan Island where is a paradise for painting subjects. It's rugged coastline and untouched beauty has made it very popular to many visitors. Monhegan Island has many cottages, a couple of Bed and Breakfasts, and 2 large Inns. There are no taxi's though so plan to do a lot of walking and hiking! This painting was a custom piece done for a couple because of their love of Monhegan Island. Please visit our gallery in New Harbor and see all of Mark's realistic Mural paintings of Maine! |
